Filip was born in Belgrade and moved to Melbourne with his family when he was two. Melbourne is where he grew up, studied medicine, and built his career as a doctor. Today he works as a General Practitioner, Cosmetic Physician, and Sexual Health Doctor. Along the way, he has also worked as a medical journalist and writer, exploring the intersection between medicine, culture, and storytelling.
He lives in Melbourne with his young family and began writing fiction in 2018, initially as a creative outlet. Curious about the craft, he enrolled in both in-person and online writing courses, immersing himself in the literary world and developing his voice as a storyteller.
Much of his debut novel was written in small, stolen moments. During lunch breaks at the clinic, instead of scrolling through the news, Filip would open his phone and write, paragraph by paragraph, using the quiet pocket of time to step into another world.
Those fragments eventually became Modern Marriage, published by Affirm Press in 2021. He is currently working on his second novel.
