About

I'm a lover of stories. I devour books. Mostly fiction but also memoir and the occasional history book. I listen to audiobooks when I'm exercising, driving and trying to understand humanity.
Melbourne is where I grew up, made mistakes, fell in love, made a family, studied medicine and built my career as a doctor. Today I work as a General Practitioner, Cosmetic Physician, and Sexual Health Doctor. Along the way, I have also worked as a medical journalist and medical writer, exploring the intersection between medicine, culture, and storytelling.
This all happened in the stolen moments between the main show that is actually important: tending to three little souls that take the limelight. I continue to steal that time because creativity isn't just about creating life, it's about the ongoing pursuit of creating itself.
I live in Melbourne with my family and began writing fiction in 2018, initially as a creative outlet. A birthday present: an online, creative writing course. Curious about the craft, I later enrolled in both in-person and online writing courses, immersing myself in the literary world and developing my voice as a storyteller. Everyone has a POV, I just wanted to cultivate mine.
Much of my debut novel was written in small, stolen moments. During lunch breaks at the clinic, instead of scrolling through the news I would open my phone and write, paragraph by paragraph, using the quiet pocket of time to step into another world. It saved me from spiralling into nihilistic doom and provided the space to write, focus, edit and develop my own voice.
Those fragments eventually became Modern Marriage, published by Affirm Press in 2021. I loved writing that book and love hearing from readers.
I am currently working on my second novel.
